  • Newbe - Yamaha 2000 SUV 1200 brand of oil question

    Hi All,

I'm new to the PWC world. Just got a Yamaha 2000 SUV 1200. The gentleman that I bought it from said to used ONLY Yamaha oil. (he works for them). This is a 2 stroke 135hp. Is this true that I should only use the Yamaha oil, Yamalube I think it's called? Or would there be a equivalent that is far less expensive. Sorry if this is not the place to ask or if this a redundant question. I tried looking back but couldn't find the answer.

    Thanks!

Its just the place for that type of question. Of course yamalube is fine but as you say its xpensive, I run pennzoil 2 stroke synthetic blend oil in everything I own and have experienced no problems. It runs about $13 a gallon here. I have found that it causes less smoke and less plug fouling. Just my opinion.
Hope you hit the water soon.
