Was riding around as normal this last weekend and my 1995 900 Tigershark suddenly lost top-end power. The sound of the motor running has also changed to a more hollow throaty sound.
What should I start checking?
-Spark is present on all 3 cylinders. I did notice while it was idling that the RPM drops when I disconnect the spark plug wire from the plugs 1 & 2, but not plug 3. Does this mean anything? I know cylinder 1 is supposed to handle the majority of the engine's load.
-I did notice that pouring gas down the throat of the 3rd carb made the engine rev up higher, but don't know if that proves anything either.
-Compression tested 120psi in both cylinders 1 & 2, but only 100psi in cylinder 3. I know everything I've read says this is bad, but these are the same compression readings I recorded last summer when it was running just fine.
Please point me in the right direction.
