2001 seadoo GTS wont start

just put in new 1.5 pistons and rings put it all back together and now when I try to start it it makes a winding noise like the starter is trying but the motor is not turning over I can turn the fly wheel in the back of the motor by hand Any ideas?

bendix stuck? Pull the front cover, take a look.

Why did you have to replace the pistons?

The rear piston blew a ring had no compression The bendix on the starter?

the noise is coming from the black box behind the motortook off the cover to it but what am i looking for?

if the noise is coming from that box, then you need to test the solenoid (the one with 2 power cables attached). Jump the posts using an insulated screwdriver, see if the starter spins (it's going to spark, forewarned)..

If it spins the starter by jumping, but by pushing the start button only makes the solenoid go "click", then there is agood chance that the solenoid is bad... or you have a very poor ground somewhere.
