  • Bendix washers: how many required?

While I wait for a solution to the rope jammed in my #1 cylinder, I have another! Everything I read says there are 2 washers on the bendix. There is only one on mine and none fell out. Should there be 2 washers or should I just go with the one I have? (I am putting a new bendix in.) If I should use 2, are they special washers or will any do?

    Thanks for any help!

Thanks for the reply! I'm tempted to go with that as I'm ready to get everything back together with new Bendix, flywheel, and stator. After looking at the manual again, it says THREE washers.

Would like to have it back in the water tomorrow so have to decide on one vs 2 or 3. Since you are running with one and mine was starting fine with one until the Bendix froze up, I may have a beer and then go with 1 before the day ends!

      Thanks again.

Two washers are the norm.! taurbin, we're not that far apart. I might have a spare washer if you need. PM me with your email address.

Without the 2 you may have a rattle noise from the front cover.
