  • premix gp1200....what do you do to override the oil low alarm?

I recently installed a new gauge on my 97 gp1200, the waverunner has been premix since I bought it but the gauges never worked until now. What do you guys do to get past the warning alarm that there is no oil....I don't have a cap for the oil reservoir, so is there another trick....to tricking the thing into thinking there is oil?

Take the sending unit out and flip it upside down, zip tie it up to the wire harness and that should fool it.

Does anyone know which color the wires are for the oil sending unit GP1200 1999. Mine is missing from purchase and I want to short circuit the display and alarm.
        Thanks
