  • Kawasaki 1100 STX DI - Rev limited

I have a 2003 1100 STX DI. On the last day of riding last season the ski started limited itself to 4000 RPM's or less, but as soon as you hit a wave it would go back to unlimited and that would last for a few seconds. I have checked just about everything I can think of; wire connections, oil level, plugs, compression, etc... This appears to me to be an electrical sensor issue, but I'm not sure where to look. The interesting thing is that on the trailier it does not occur, only when the ski is actually in the water. Anybody got any ideas. I'm running around looking for a loose ground wire somewhere.

It seems that its only when a load is put on the ski it happens, have your fuel pressure checked, the pump may be going bad.
