Re: HX 720 ENGINE IGNITION TIMING

In my shop manual CD I found this:

" 787 Engine - When reinstalling magneto rotor to engine flywheel,
one of the protuberance end of magneto
rotor must align with hole of engine flywheel. "

          Mestre,
Yes, but that only sets the magneto in the correct position. It does not set your timing.

Re: HX 720 ENGINE IGNITION TIMING

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't that set the base timing then to set the ignition timing you have to use an electronic programmer? I'm still a little new at this and I took my magneto off the flywheel when striping the engine to send in to SBT. I couldn't find any markings to put it back on properly so that I know the timing is set back to where it was. I looked in my manual and thought I would post because Tech Support posted that there is no such adjustment.

Re: HX 720 ENGINE IGNITION TIMING

First of all, the picture of the 787 magneto shouldn' have been posted in this thread regarding a 717 in the first place. Second, no there is no manual adjustment on a 787.

If you guys want to talk about a 787 start a new thread. Closed.
