1996 slx780 fuel pump

    1996 slx780 fuel pump

    I pickup up a non running 1996 slx780 I rebuilt the carbs and just got thru replacing the stator and pickup. The engine runs but it does not respond to the throttle.
    I see the carb linkages moving but no respons.
    I have gas dripping out the exhaust. I removed the muffler.
    Is th fuelump bad?

    What do the reed pedals look like? If it is bogging down real bad the reeds may be broken or carbs are way out of specs on the settings.

      When I rebuilt the carbs I wrote the the needle settings.
      They are pretty much the same as my other slx780 that runs.
      I looked at the reed and didn't see anything broken.
      That is why I am guessing fuel pump

        Whats the pop-off set to on the carbs, I dont think is a fuel pump issue.

          Didn't check reused the existing springs.
          What should the pop off be?
          I pulled the intake off again and looked at the reeds one finger T the cylinder end doesn't seem to be making a tight fit on the base.
          I touch it and I can see the finger move a small amount before it makes with the base
          Is the reed bad?

            The reed is ok. The pop-off should be 20-24

              I tried to check the pop off pressure opne carb is 20 psi the other two I see bubbles fropm around the needle before I get over 10 psi.
              I am assuming that the needle and seat are bad.
              How do I know which one to buy 1.25mm 2.5mm??????
