  • js440 with a sx 650 motor wont start please help

    i have a js 440 that i put a sx 650 motor into the 650 motor wont start it has fuel spark and compression it has good reeds i just pulled the motor apart and resealed from the crank up every gasket i have the 650 cdi the woodruf key in the fly wheel is good is there somthing with kill switch that i might have wired wrong if i load it with starting fluid and crank for a long time (2mins) it will fire any help would be great thanks

    Sounds more like a carb issue. Go through it, and dont use starter fluid on any 2 stroke, you will damage the engine.

      I will go through the carb this weekend but it doesn't start even ido put fuel in the cylinders it just back fires

        if its backfiring then you may have broke the flywheel key and it is now out of time. Pull the flywheel and check the condition of the key.

          The key is ok is there a way to dead time this or where should the stator be positioned

            If the flywheel key is good then its time to go through the electrical system, there are tests you can follow in the factory repair manual, it could have a bad voltage regulator, cdi issue or wiring issue.
