  • Ski rope wrapped around shaft

My buddy borrowed our 2004 Honda F12 and managed to suck up almost the whole 60ft ski rope and wrap it around the shaft. After an hour of dismantling we unwrapped it by turning engine backwards.

It seems to run ok, but when running the pump dry to empty out remaining water after a day of playing I think I hear a whining sound that is new. It starts at about 2000 rpm but is not real loud, the sound itself would not concern me except I think it is a new sound.

Doesl wrapping a rope around jet shaft typically cause any damage

    Thanks!

Re: Ski rope wrapped around shaft

It could damage the shaft seals. All jet pumps make alot of noise out of the water it maybe hard to tell if something is damaged.
