  • Yamaha 701t Stator mounting holes damaged .... core charge

    Hi,

Just got word from the shop that my Stator was loose in my 701T and the bolts rocking around opened up the Stator mounting holes (also damaged the Stator / flywheel ... yeaah). I haven't seen it yet, but they said needs a new motor and were concerned about core charges due to the damage. I'm going to go ahead and do the work myself.

    2 questions:

    1. Would SBT accept this as a core assuming no other damage? Estimate of charges if any?
    2. Does anyone know of a repair for the mounting holes without replacing the block (inserts etc.?)

Looks like I might be putting in my 3rd SBT motor (3 diff. ski's)

**Update** I was able to get helicoil inserts installed, looks like that will work out.

sounds good, we would have welded the holes back up and then re drilled and taped them.
