  • Honda Cylinder Sleeve Boring Specs?

I recently ordered a Honda cylinder sleeve 44-600 from SBT to replace a damaged sleeve. Since the stock sleeves are very thin, the block must be bored out to fit the SBT sleeve. However I can't find any recommended specs on how far it should be bored out to accept the new sleeve. either the bore size or the interference spec would be much appreciated.

Does anyone have experience doing it on this ski?

    Thanks

Use a 0.003"-0.004" interference fit on the main portion of the sleeve and a 0.002"-0.003 interference fit on the flange portion of the sleeve.
Just be careful the aluminum on these blocks tends to crack easily. Be sure to heat the engine block to about 425 degrees prior to inserting the sleeves.

Hello, does this go the same for the Kawasaki STX12F Cylinder bank, as I have a SBT cast Iron liner to install?

        thanks.

Thanks. So just to check, I have SBT pistons to install in the 3 remaining Nikasil coated cylinders and a 4th piston of same SBT type to fit into the Cast iron liner. Will that work or do need to get a different piston/rings for the CI liner?
