I purchased a rebuilt 717 engine for my 1996 SPX from SBT about 4 years ago. A significant oil leak occurred at the end of last summer, and I just now got around to troubleshooting it. I discovered the plug in the engine block that seals off the machined bore for the rotary shaft (exhaust side of block) had come out. Pic from shop manual attached. I have not located the plug in my hull yet, I'm guessing it is there somewhere but I need to remove all the leaked oil so I can find it. Are you aware of any type of expansion plug that I could install without pulling the engine? If not, do you know the diameter of the bore so I can search for something?
