  • 2001 Kawasaki Ultra 150 idles at 3000 rpm on trailer

Just got my Kawasaki ultra 150 out of winterization. Ran it on the trailer and it idles around 3000 Roma on trailer. I read it should idle around 1800. When I turned the adjust knob down to 1800 it bogs down back fires then picks up rpm. I set the idle back to 3000 rpms and it seemes to run perfect. I was scared so I haven't run it on the water yet to see where it idles yet. Anyone have advice on trailer rpms and in water rpms? Does it sound like a problem or is this usual?

Sounds like it's running lean either from a vacuum leak some where or fuel starvation. Could be tank pick up, or need a carb rebuild.
I would start by check all the fuel supple lines to make sure they are tight and secure, new filter, and check the fuel pick up for obstructions and make sure the tank vent is letting air into the tank. If all that is good, time for a rebuild.
