Steve, if you don't want to pull your hair out, get a buzz cut, ;)
I thought the same question, is your fuel selector switch on, but you said you ran it for a few minutes, so I guess you can count that out.
You could go a cheaper route and get new plugs and gap them correctly. Make sure your connections are all cleaned up and securely in position.
When you hit the start button, does it just rotate over and over? If you had a leaky needle and seat, when you took the plugs out to see if anything would come out, you'd see it, trust me on that one. That and you would have oil sludge coming out the rear of the ski.
Try those out and see what happens.

Ok guys, charged the battery up and it fired right up today, reved great. Took it to the lake, backed it in and tryed to start it.....not happening.

Pulled it out, yanked the plugs, oil on them(mind you i amd running break in oil on top of the oil pump). Ok, wiped them off and started it out of the water, then backed it in. Had to do that a few times before i could get it to quit stalling.

Finally got it to idle, idles great, but when i go to goose it, it's like it's not getting enough gas.

I did nothing to the carbs sense last year, but i can hold it WOT and only get to 10 MPH. I am 95% sure my RV timing is correct. The plugs are brand new, and i have cleaned them after each start attempt.

gallon og gas and a match guys?
        LOL

I would pull your rotary valve cover and make sure you have NO scratches on it. Then check the clearance, I suspect you may be out. Remove the o-ring, bolt the cover back down and measure the clearance between the cover and valve with a feeler gauge - it needs to be between 0.010" and 0.014". Any more and you get those symtoms.

We don't fog, we use a squirt of assembly lube during compression testing.

how long do you warm it up before putting it in the water? your using BR8ES NGK plugs ? and how old is your battery , if it was new how was it filled and charged . if it is a acid battery , you might want to try a AGM i use Deka AGM batterys , they start 800 and 951s like a dream .

try running it on the hose for 15 to 20 min and give it a few revs to 4k { just little shots } to blow out any oil then when you get to the ramp start it up and let it run 30 sec before putting it in the water . if it is just an oil problem try to get run it as much as you can before getting in the water once your running in the water you will blow out all the oil and should be ok afterwards , if your battery is weak or was not chraged right { min 16 hrs if it was new } on 2amp it wont crank out the power to fire under a load .

I let it run for 5 miniutes on the hose, reved it a few times and turned it off....water first of course. Took it to the lake and dumped it in, would not start. Took it out and wiped the plugs. It fired right up Backed it in and it stalled and would not start bacck up in the water. Went through this 3-4 times before it would idle in the water.

Got to that point, but then it would not rev up in the water.

I'm to believe either you or tech is right.....timing problem or oil problem, cause my plugs are loading up(wet with oil). My question is, whats causing them to load up? My oil pump is lined up with the tic marks, throttle and choke cables are set right.

ok, ignore my last post for now.......

I remember dropping a bolt in the carb throat last year, and was freaking that it didn't get in the crank case.

You got 2 sets of butterflies, the choke and the throttle.

Is the rear ones(throttle) supposed to be fully open at idle when adjusted right, or fully closed?

Sorry, i'm not all that great with carbs.

Choke is top and open. Throttle is bottom and closed.

You got the bolt out right?

                                you might want to take a pic of your rotory cover and send it to SBT or if you like me and we can see if your cover is damaged { if you have a scratch from hole to hole its damaged }

also your battery can be a problem , is it new ? a weak or undercharged battery will draw to much power for you motor and kill your spark { your ski runs off the battery } the charging system is there to only charge the battery .
