1998 Gti front cylinder no compression

Hello everyone I have 1998 gti 717 the engine is rebuilt SBT exchange it was done about 4 years ago I only use the ski twice a year so maybe 5 tanks if fuel since the engine installed.I was using this week running fine then it stumbled a bit I gave it gas and know I have no compression in the mag cylinder and it won't start.
The question is it has a single carb kinda confused why it didn't burn down both cyl
i have replace all the fuel line and went through the carb when I installed the engine.

Do you have pictures of the cylinders?
It is difficult to evaluate with out seeing them.
