  • 2007 Seadoo GTi SE electrical issues

    1. Bad gauge caused unit not to communicate with diagnostic computer
    2. Replaced gauge, able to communicate, married to ECU.
    3. Faults P0562 low voltage.
    a) Battery fully charged and load tested
    b) Rectifier outputting at 13.5v, replaced in case it was inducing issues into the system
    c) Fuses are good for the two 30amp
    d) Relay is good, swapped with a new one just in case

    Issues
    1) Diagnostic computer on "monitor" shows ZERO volts. So while there is adequate voltage, the system is not seeing it.
    2) Unit wont idle, replaced TPS with a new one. Reset TPS, it defaults to the fault setting. On "monitor" it is not getting a reading. Unit does rev out okay and getting full rpms.
    3) Plug in the lanyard and "low fuel" "low voltage" shows up. 3/4 of a tank of fuel with correct ohm reading. Low fuel alarm is intermittant some times it come in some times not. Low voltage is constant.
    4) Service manual does not show where the voltage is monitored at.

Any suggestions of where to look next? I am leaning towards the ECU.
    Thanks

    Is the gauge new?
Was it programmed by SeaDoo prior to install?

Gauge is new and married to ECU using your Scantool programmer. If you are referring to it being flashed for the correct model, yes that was done at the dealer the gauge was purchased from.
Gauge is functioning with all the correct displays. No "T" codes.

        Followup
I took a gauge and ECU from an identical GTi and put on the troubled unit.
All issues went away, now have 12v and TPS indication in Scantool, erratic fuel level went away, unit idles fine.

Using the same ECU with the new gauge, all issues not showing.

Using old ECU with new gauge and problems returned.

So it looks like a bad ECU. Bad for my customer as this ECU was only used for that specific year and model. $1031 for the ECU

Yes, it stinks that it only works for the 2007 Gti, and that SeaDoo charges so much for ECU's.
