I saw in aftermarket performance that you told someone about piston
clearance. You suggested that the clearance be increased at least .003
more than a OEM. Did I misunderstand ? The Wiseco specs call for
.005-.006 on a set that I have. If you add .003 to that..........it starts
getting kinda wide. I had a set in previously that were set up for .010.
That set scuffed on the exhaust side only.......but very slightly. Enough
aluminum came off to hang the ring. That wear showed the exact scuff
size of the exhaust port. That indicated to me that the piston was
putting the most load only on that small amount of skirt instead of
distributing the load across the entire piston skirt area. I would
appreciate your input on this subject. I have another set ready to go
in and I would like to make sure that the same thing doesn't
happen again. Thanks
