i installed a scat-trac swirl prop that i had purchased for my 97 gsx and then took off and installed it on my 96 gtx. when running there was a lot of noise coming from the drive system.i removed the pump and found the prop to have a bend on one of the edges and a gash in the side of it with metal fillings on the wear ring.it was lined up on the shaft. what possibly could have caused this???

it was on my trailer. i never put it in the water???
