  • I'm bald now!!!!!!!!!

Ok, took the cover off, and there was fuel on the side....about a quart over a week.

Found the problem, the fuel selector is leaking on the outside of the hull(not inside). What do i need to replace? And also, it ran great for 10 miniutes today, then i came back in and tryed to goose it, and no more than 10 mph. Could this be related?

    Thanks

Yes thats a major problem - do not run it until you replace your selector assembly.

One last question. Does that just unscrew, cause i see no bolts, other than the hose clamps for the 3 lines.

you remove the center plastic cap on the knob , remover the phillips screw , pull off the knob then unbolt the plastic nut , the valve will push into the hull . remove the lines 1 at a time when you get your new valve so you dont mix them up { its not easy to see whats what in the hull } if they have them WSM sells a plastic fuel valve a lot cheeper then OEM and they dont rot like the OEMs { problem is there always out of them lol } if you need one let me know if you dont have a dealer close by i can help you out :)

Getting ready to replace the fuel selector valve.....is any type of sealant required, or just the gasket?

Ok, got it replaced and took it......darn storms didn't let me stay out long.

Anyways ran fine, could that selector valve have been my problem or do you think i have other issues?

A bad valve will cause problems without a doubt. Can't say if it was your only problem - nothing but testing will tell.

gotcha tech, run it some more and if the problem reveals itself again......carbs are next i guess.

                          Thanks tech

Ok, now i'm just getting irritated.

Took it out again today, it started right up in the water and idled fine. Slowly applied the throttle, it responded fine until i got to about 10 mph then once again bogg city at mid, and dies when i squeeze it all the way.

Ok, i trailored it and started it.....fuel, which i think is oil in the water...way rich.

Ok played a bit with the lows...from 1.5 to 1....got to 1 and it got a tad better.

before i tear the carbs off and rebuild them and replace the needles and seats again(almost another 200.00 grrrrr) i have a few ?s

I had the carbs off over the winter and as far as i know all the fuel was out, could they have varnished?

Can i turn the lows all the way in, since i have all that **** break in oil in, or should i adjust out.

Or should i just bite the bullet and drain the gas tank.

                            Any opinions welcome....thanks

forgot to add.......the plugs looke somewhat normal in the middle, but the rim was clean and oily.

BTW, the highs are still at 0
