Does SBT make their own rods? Are SBT replacement rods forged or cast? Has any of SBT rods ever failed becuse of defects? If the rods have a defect will SBT replace the rods. What if a rod breaks because of defect and my 90 day warranty is up? Since I live in Michigan and had the crank rebuilt in fall when the ski is in storage and I am unable to install motor until the following summer, how does warranty cover such a situation? Will SBT work with me to correct any defects in materials if they occur after the 90 day warranty on the crank and rods?

Yes we make our own rods, and the 951's are exact cast OEM copies. We have had very few defects, but yes it does happen to everyone.

As far as the warranty, we always try to persude a customer in that situation to wait until they will be able to use the product before purchasing, as we do hold to the warranty period. Any special circumstances can be discussed directly by calling Julie, the Warranty Manager, if the need arrises.
