  • "92 GTX SURGEING

We have a '92 GTX that we just ttok out ofwinter storage. We replaced the battery and it starts right up. Only problem - when the throttle is held down, the engine surges like someone is pressing and releaseing the throttle continually. What will cause it to surge like this?

That is often clogged carb filters. I would rebuild your carbs and make sure your fuel is fresh.

Carb filter? Didn't know carbs had filters! This is a rhythmic surgeing not speradic. Could it be mechanical?

Do a compression check. Try new plugs. Unscrew the boots off the ends of the plug wires and snip the wires back 1/4", then re install the boots.
