  • '95 GTX gas gauge

Recently bought a '95 GTX from a private owner. There is a problem with the gas gauge. When I start the engine, all the red warning lights on the left gauge flash on momentarily and then turn off except the low gas light. It stays lit even after engine start. The LCD display for gas level is off too whether starting or running the engine. Got any ideas as to how to fix this? Anticipating the obvious, yes, there is fuel in the tank.

That is very common - do a search for fuel float.

Find the wires coming from the fuel pickup in the tank. Unhook the connector and put a jumper across the connector going away from the tank. If it reads full the guage os OK and the problem is in the sender that is in the pickup.
