580 cdi testing

What readings should be found when testing a 580 (big magneto housing) cdi, rectifier and speed limiter? It can be done with a multimeter?

Not all of it can be tested with a multimeter. Only the stator, and the wire looms. The ignition can be tested with an ignition tester.
What is your problem ?

A very common problem with that model 580 is a broken wire between the CDI and the coil. It won't look broken though, and may even test good until it wiggles.
