  • pitting on the piston and head

I recently noticed that my engine was fouling the plugs bigtime. After like 6 hrs of riding the plugs would become black/greasy.

A week later the engine lost power I found out i lost compression in the 1st piston i took the head off and the top of the piston along with the head had small pits along the outer edge.

i would like to know what causes this?

Detonation - I would be rebuilding your carbs and going through your fuel system.

          No, repairing the engine will.

Do not try running this motor until you rebuild the top end. The piston will break into pieces and the rod with come out of the side of the motor.

Any pitting indicates that something is really wrong with the motor or carbs. The damage is allready done.
