97 gti...when attaching my lanyard I get just a faint click noise comming from the beeper under the handlebars....ran the ski Sunday and everything was fine...ski still caranks and runs but i am concerned with being able to hear the buzzer if it overheats....is there any way to test the sensor and the buzzer to see if they work???

I had to replace the one on my 97 GTS. Those things are POS. Prepare to spend about forty bucks for the thing.

Sure you can test it. The easiest way is to make sure you have power going to it ( you said it "clicks" ), then just ground the lead on the heat sensor. When grounded it should beep continiously.

I wouldn't know, I never tried it. But any 12V buzzer should work I would think.

I doubt the problem is the buzzer. Ground the heat sensor connector to the head and check it before you do something silly like swap out a good buzzer for another good buzzer.

Mine, again did same thing. It would work sometimes then I would try it an hour later and it did not work. I bought one from the dealer four months ago and never had a problem again. :D
