Can I avoid doing the winterizing procdure by running the engine periodically over the winter. I have easy access to my Ski and in Alabama the winters are not too bad. Can I start it out of the water and run it a few minutes or do I nedd to put it in? Thanks

Off the hose you are limited to 15-20 seconds of run time. Yes that will keep the engine lubricated, but does nothing to preserve your fuel, maintain your battery or keep the water from freezing, if you run into that problem.

I'm in Alabama and will ride periodically during the winter. In fresh water only. It does occasionally freeze here. My ski is stored in an unheated boathouse. After riding I will rev it a few times to blow out the excess water. Is there anything else I need to do when expecting below freeaing temperatures?
