  • '94 SL750 - Ocean Pro Copper Head Gaskets

I saw Ocean Pro copper head gaskets that are .030" thick. What advantage is this? Do you guy recommend the use of them?

Copper gaskets seal better than fiber or composite, and are usually reuseable. There are companies doing custom cut gaskets, it's a race application thing.

I don't recall what the stock thickness is. If that's over stock, it could be users on decked cylinders, or a shaved head I suppose.

They made those hd gaskets in varying thicknesses to adjust compression on the OP heads

I think some also use them to 'index' their plugs.

That is done with washers under the plugs, not gaskets under the heads.
