  • idle speeds on a 1100 zxi?

I have a question about the idle speed out of water of a somewhat modded ski. Basically my ski took on a large amount of water, and to make a long story short, the engine rusted up. I got the engine started and running, compression is at stock levels. The only problem is, the ski will only idle around 3500 rpm. This is in my garage with the flush kit hooked up. I think this is too high, but some say it's just about right, because you idle higher when out of water. Is this too high, or just about right...could I get through a no wake zone?? If not what should I do? Thanks.

That's about right, but if your engine rusted up, there is no way it's going to last very long.

Your motor will idle higher out of the water than in the water. thats why you should never adjust the idle while its not in the water. As for the rusting dont know what to tell you. it may last you 1 day or a whole season. all i know is sooner or later you better get a hold of BRYAN and buy a motor from him.
