  • 550sx slight running problem

i have a slight running problem 550sx c1, having stripped cleaned and re-built almost everything on the jetski i was amazed to find it start and run instantly but i have a small problem. If the throttle is opened very quickly the engine dies. Opening it just slightly slower and the response is fine. can anyone point me in any direction, having taken almost everything apart it is hard to know where to start.

OK, that's good. First, try opening your low-speed screw 1/8th of a turn at a time and see if it improves, to see if you are lean or rich on the low end. You probably just need to fine tune your carb.

          any better ideas for testing?
i have the ski tied with rope to a post and stand about waist deep, the problem is that revving the engine, adjusting the carbs and keeping the thing still (and keeping it dry) is nearly impossible, how do the pro's do it?

          thanks for help, appreciated.

Um - don't tie it up - ride it.
