• 2000 900 STX loss of top speed!

I got a lot of water in the engine compartment and as I got it close to shore I unknowingly sucked up a lot of sand into the cooling system. After getting the water out of the compartment, I rode the ski and it over-heated! I went back to shore and took it home and flushed the cooling system. Now when I ride my ski it averages about 8 mph less at top end and is sluggish with acceleration. Full throttle rpms 7300 idles fine! Haven't checked compression. Any ideas what I need to do?

You damaged your pump passing rocks and sand though it! Take it apart and send all the damaged parts to Dave at www.impros.com

Thanks for the info. I took the pump off and found a cracked and bent impeller that I could not see by an external inspection. I spoke with the people at Impros and found them to be very helpful. I ordered an impeller from them and installed it. I took it out last week and it ran better than when I bought it.
Thanks for this great forum.

Glad to hear it - and that was quick! Less than a week!
