  • x-2 Fires on both pots at the same time

Hi all. My 1992 x-2 cut out in the water the other day and would not restart. I have now discovered that instead of sparking when cylinder 1 is at tdc then again when cylinder 2 is at tdc. It is firing at both plugs when pot 1 is at tdc and both plugs when pot 2 is at tdc.

How can I find out if this is the coil bridging out or if it is a cdi problem?

    Cheers
    Rich

    Is this not normal?

That is normal. On twins, they both fire every 180 deg. Look elsewhere for your starting problem, like compression or fuel.
