  • top end rebuild advice needed

    Hi all

i have taken the head off of my 92 x-2 and I have found that the pistons and liners are worn (It was running at 80psi!!!). it has 1.25 on the top of both pistons. Should I get the block rebored out to the next size then order new pistons and gaskets? Is this the normal way of doing a top end rebuild?

Also i have a westcoast head on there and it has two o rings round the cylinder. Will these come with the top end gasket set?

    Please reply

Our top end kits are industry standard, and only come with stock gaskets. You would need to find the Westcoast o-rings somewhere else. You may be able to go with larger pistons if the cylinders can be cleaned up and a larger size is available. FI not you will need to resleeve the cylinders and start at standard size. The head would also need to be recut for a larger size piston.
