SBT SBN carb kits

I have several rebuild kits that are giving me this problem.

When you install the diaphram "siver center SBT" in the carb and tighten the cover plate it will cause the needle jet to be open all the time. I verified the arm is either level or lower that the carb housing.

If I install a OEM "red" center diaphram it works fine. ????

Could this be a defective batch or something else?

We very occasionally receive this type of call, and no matter what I have tried with come customers, it never seems to work. I can not duplicate the problem on our current kits, and we sell over 100 a week without incident.
