96 xp needs some tlc

so i am offically putting it up for sale.
i have a 1996 xp with trailer if needed. motor has about 150 hours. carbs were just rebuilt, new gel battery, new plugs and other stuff. yes the ski needs some work but it has alot of potential. email me with any questions.

Yeah, what he said! Depending on what it needs you might be able to trade it for a GF/wife boat.

not sure what you mean, it just needs time spent with it from someone who knows more about pwc than i do. the motor has 140 # compression. whan spec is 141 so i don't think its the motor. either fuel or electronic problem is what i am guessing. but i am not positive. just want to enjoy the rest of the summer not worring about it.

Is it currently running with low compression? Maybe it will idle but stall when you apply the throttle? Does it run good but start to miss at high RPMs?

When I mentioned a posible trade for a wife/GF boat, I was talking about my GSi. Very dependable and stable, just not very exciting. Since I got my GSXL, it has become my wifes boat..

it has good compression is what i was told. it runs up to about half throtle then it boggs down. doesn't die just boggs then it picks up then it boggs just over and over when above half throtle. below half it runs pretty good. not sure of the rpms(no tach.).
what year is your gsi? whats the horsepower/top speed? is it a three seater?
a wife boat is exactly what i am looking for.

Not a three-seater. It has the same hull as a GSX and GSXL but with the 720cc engine. The best GPS speed I have seen is 52.8 and 52.5 on back to back runs in oposite directions. Last GPS was around 49 but that was before replacing the warped plastic pump with a bronze. I haven't check with the new pump but it feel like it hooks-up better. Its a '97, I think that the only year the GSi was made(maybe 98).

carbs, fuel pump, fuel lines (bogging) probably carbs plugged in the high-speed passages.

nope carbs and fuel lines were just checked and rebuilt.
