Replacement for VTS?

I have now replaced both trim boxes and motors on my 95 XP and 97 SPX at least once...and they are starting to act up again. After reading the long article on the PPG site, I am loath to spend any more money on the electric systems, and am curious about the QuickTrim that I have seen advertised. What can anyone tell me about it? I have seen reference to it only trimming in one direction - does that mean you "dump" it all the way in one direction, and then pump it the other way? What are thoughts on putting it on a recreational boat? Is it a maintenance hog, or a good replacement for the VTS?

I believe it's spring actuated - if it's like the ones for Yamahas, you can choose whether it defaults to trim up or down, and by squeezing the lever it trims the other way.
