• Timing Curve

Hi Bill,
I would really, really, appreciate your help on this, regardless of how diverse and esp if you have tried it. Basically I am an ignorant person who wants to be less stupid. The shop manual for 951 says timing is 15-19 degrees BTDC at high speed. That's a pretty big spread and high speed could be anywhere from 6800-7500 rpms. My question is: on a limited or ss 951, blending SAFETY with PERFORMANCE, how much advance should the boat be set to be running when turning 71, 73 & 7500? Running conditions are short, hard periods of acceleration to 73-7400 while running 103 and then say a diff scenario of WOT runs of a min or so while running 92? Lets say I look at my cylinders fairly often through the Rave slots also . Can you shed some light on this for me Bill? I am really, really, interested.

Please don't cross-post. I'll leave the one in Tech for replies.
