  • Jetworks Control Valve on GP1200

I notice the description of the Jetworks flow control valve says it is incompatible with Yamaha OEM exhausts - anyone know why? I'm looking to dry out my waterbox at low RPM and idle.

    Brian,
    I'd ask Jetworks.

        Brian,
Is there any kind of sensor in the exhaust system behind where you inject water from this valve?

No, it's actually just before. In this diagram, hose 49 is the main water exit from the pipe jackets, and hose 42 is the loop that goes from the end of the jacket to the stinger end. The temp sensor is actually in between the end of the loop, at the end of the jackets.

The note that it's not compatible with OEM Yamaha exhausts was found in the Hot Products catalog. There is no such note on Jetworks.net nor on Riva's site, who also carries the valve. Hopefully Jetworks will just tell me that the Hot Products catalog is incorrect.

Brian, In a doo, we put them into the line before the stinger or into the waterbox. There are no coupler hoses to burn in the path. Could that be there concern ?

It may be, although because it says it doesn't completely shut off the water, I doubt it would be a major concern at idle. They still haven't replied though...guess I'll have to call. I hate it when companies on the net aren't up to date with answering email...get with the program guys, it's 2002.

They finally got back to me and it seems the only issue is the size of the hose the valve connects to, which really isn't an issue. All it would take is an adaptor fitting, but on my year, it works stock anyway. Too bad they don't include a better disclaimer in the catalog!!

I just recieved another email from them and they also have a 1/4" unit, which fits the 1997 1200 exhaust water line. The 1998+ use the standard size sold in other catalogs.
