Would be grateful if anyone can help us out, got a 2001 Seadoo GTX Di that keeps losing power on the lake then stalling and struggling to restart, seemed ok when not in water, starts and revs ok, appears to be intermittent problem, no faults logged (had this checked out already), local dealer says its the fuel pump and we should replace it (works out about £500 fitted), replaced fuel filter and plugs already - no effect. Worried that its alot of money to spend if it doesn't cure the fault. Friends ski also started doing this last weekend too, same make/model ski (maybe coincidence). Could it be electrical??????

Losing power as in dropping RPMs or as in shutting down?
First take a compression check to see if it shows any damage.
Unfortunately with a DI ski you are retty much at the dealers mercy, there isn't much you can adjust yourself or even test without the dealer computer.SBT Tech Support is here to help with your problems.

It runs for about an hour or so, then starts holding back and cuts out/shuts down. Restarts again but as soon as I try to accelerate it cuts out again. After leaving it to stand 10 or 15 mins then it runs again ok. Compression check seemed ok.

sorry my wife typed that response, i meant i have checked the fuel pressure and that was ok. not checked compression as it runs fine inbetween the fault and even pulls three adult kneeboarders at the same time so i thought it would be either fuel or electrics. just seems to do it when its warmed up.SCOOBY1

Well if you get around 150 psi in each cylinder, you need to have a dealer handle it - there's nothing you can do.SBT Tech Support is here to help with your problems.

This sounds familiar.. just had the same issue with a GTX DI.. would run for a minute or so, then it would die like it fouled a plug. swap in new plugs and there was no improvement.
ended up being the fuel pump.. They are not cheap. I would recommend borrowing a known good one to test before having to purchase one.-[\/]ac
www.MACSBOOST.com Plug in 20+HP for your Honda Turbocharged Watercraft

Re: GTX Di Possible Fuel Pump Fault
Exact same thing happened to me two Summers ago on my 2001 GTX Di, Got out on the Lake ski ran great then power was all gone but still running. I pulled the key out waited like 5-10 minutes and it was fine for 2-3 minutes then the same thing all over again. I had my dealer look at it and it was the Fuel Pump, I was just over a year old but my dealer replaced the Fuel Pump under warrenty and had me pay just labor. I got lucky I guess ski had around 55 hours on it, I currently have almost 100 and have had no other problems.Originally posted by Scooby1Would be grateful if anyone can help us out, got a 2001 Seadoo GTX Di that keeps losing power on the lake then stalling and struggling to restart, seemed ok when not in water, starts and revs ok, appears to be intermittent problem, no faults logged (had this checked out already), local dealer says its the fuel pump and we should replace it (works out about £500 fitted), replaced fuel filter and plugs already - no effect.
