Just got my project block back from machine shop, now it needs paint. Whats a good technique as far as type of paint and sealer. I know it needs a corrosion protective coating, what is a good type? I believe they come with epoxy paint from the factory, is it necessary to use this type of paint? I am looking for it to last.

    thanks

Any High-Temp engine paint at an auto store will protect well. A clear coat when you are done will also help.

I like the Plasti-Kote Hot Rod White engine paint followed by Krylon Clear for the white seadoo's.
Stands up very well, years later it still looks like new.

cool, that's what I was hoping. Will the auto store paint help keep the corrosion away? Or will a standard engine primer work well? I just don't want it to wind up like it was peeling off, and corroded like no tomorrow. I almost always spray my engine down after each ride, I'm sure that help too.

        thanks

Definitely prime it well - should be fine, although not as good as OEM or an epoxy paint. Just keep it clean.

I don't spray doo lube, or wd40 on the motor. The paint holds up fine without it. I'll hose it off with water every now and then....always when in saltwater.
