  • Skat Trak prop and performance

I had bought a 2003 GTX 4-Tec Supercharged and posted a previous message that I thought I lost power because I am running between 7250-7400 RPM's veries up and down. But I just found out the owner before me put in a Skat Trak prop and the mechanic I spoke with said that the prop is probably to get a quick out of the hole take off. compared to top end speed. he said the prop could be why my RPMS are running a bit lower then what a Stock ski would do. Does this sound right? I mean the ski does fly out of the water on take off. Just want to find out if the range of RPMS are fine and if a Skat Trak prop would effect the RPMS compared to stock prop. I had several people "mechanics" take it out and they thought it performed good. Anyway any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks!

Of course changing anything about an impellor will affect the rpm of the motor. The impellor is alot like the gear in a differential of an automobile in the sense that it is your final drive ratio.
