  • Timing New Motor-951

I got a completely different motor for my xpl. It's a "hot rod" motor.
When I time the machine, it doesn't matter what kind of motor I have,(modded, etc), I set the timing according to factory specs, right?
I checked the timing, with a Kowa light, and it shows pretty far off. But it doesn't need to be advanced or anything for a particular motor? Just take it to a dealer and let them adjust it on the mpem?
    Thanks, Clifton

Unless you have an aftermarket ignition, the ONLY way you can change your timing is with a dealership programmer.
