  • Can my Honda CRV tow my Sea Doo?

Hi, I was wondering if my Honda CRV will be able to tow my new Sea Doo. I kinda need an answer fast, so any help would be appreciated

I would agree, but if you're still in doubt do check the owners manual to the CRV to see the recommended tow maximums.

It's a class one and there are plenty of hitches available.

That is what we use to tow our GTX SC and no problems at all. No probs at the ramps either. Pulls nice out from the ramp and does not slip.

It says the maximum it can pull is 1000...but the SeaDoo is 867....how much does the trailer weigh?

The trailer is a couple hundred. 1000 lbs. is class 1, but you can easily go over it a bit without any problems. A jetski is cake to tow.

don't think it is safe to go over the maximum tow rating. they came up with that number for a reason. whether it be the brakes, transmission or frame/unibody isn't strong enough.

Is the 1000 lbs tongue weight and isnt tongue weight different from the actual weight of the ski and trailer?

Tongue weight is the amount of weight directly placed on the ball. it should be probably 100-200lbs tongue if the overall is 1000lbs.

should be 10% of trailer weight otherwise it will cause handling probs
