  • 2001 Sea-Doo GS for $2200 - Worth it?

    Greetings,

I'm thinking of buying a 2001 Seadoo GS from a rental place for $2200.00 - no trailer, just the ski. Probably has a lot of hours (was a rental). The owner said he mantained it religiously and rebuilt a lot of the normal wear and tear items at the end of the season.

It looks like it's in good shape. I plan on test running it this weekend.

Thoughts? Suggestions? I'm new to these things, so any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance! Great forum.

one word should tell you to run , rental . you atleast need to find out how many hrs is on it and have it inspected from an out side shop .

Look at the paint/finish real close.See if you can find any blend lines where it has been touched up from a wreck.I hear people that rent skis like to run into things...lol and jk.

Seriously though...check it out really closely. And if you do buy it...ask if they will give you a 30 day warranty,as to where anything major develops, they will buy it back from you for what you payed for it.

Id' be wary of the rental, I bet you could find a GS or GSI, or GSX private party that is in better shape for the same or less dough.
