  • Spark plug carbon build up.

How can I stop spark plug carbon build up on the tips?

I am using new plugs, dielectric grease on the tips (generous amount), clean spark plug caps, and have snipped off 1/2 inch of wire and reattached the wire to the plug caps, but still I get a large amount of carbon buildup on the plug heads.

    This is on my x2

Don't use grease, and fine tune your carbs - they are either too rich or you are over oiling.

ok, the problem is carbon buildup not on the electrode end, but on the top.

Not the part screwed into the head, but the end the electrical connector connects to.
