Boris, you better get it running dude!! !OR well make you sit there and watch as we take your lovely wife, Natasha, along with us and leave you behind!!!! Lovers Key is turning your launch ramp area of the parking lot into an outdoor patio. Suppose to be really nice. The bulk of the conversion should be completed by our weekend.
The general manager did mention about the two skis that were launched there last year. Gee, I wonder who that was????
Life is one long weekend, so just DOO it!

Re: Southwest Florida Summer Ski Fest

Just a few days now till all the fun happens.
My ski is still down and will not be done in time to ride with you guys but I will be there to keep the beach company.
Should be a ton of fun and I'm sure I will find some way to get into trouble(even though my "private" ramp is a no go this year).
All those still on the fence on this one , watch out for the barbed wire getting stuck up your "BLEEP"
:)

P.S. How do I add them smilley faces on here?????

"Tour of the local Bays and Backwaters"
led by TJ and Todd Munch From Estero Bay through the Rivers and Creeks of the Estero Bay area, Natural Mangrove trails run right through the woods, deep into unexplored and uncharted areas you won't find on any Tourist Maps.
This will be a Nice tour open to all age groups, taken through the Backwaters and Bays.
Max speeds in the public channels will be 30-35 MPH, with lots of woods and scenery surrounding on both sides.
This is a true 3 Hour ride, it's not a huge distance away from the Resort, but it does cover a large area of backwoods trails and requires your full attention to safety and Lawful Speeds, we will let you know when you can Go Full speed, until then please stay with the group.
You are in for a real treat here,
Be led on a Trip back in time Hundreds of years into the deep depths of the Natural Mangroves Forests and Tunnels created by the Tidal Currents and Mother Nature. We will take a headcount of riders before we leave and at each stop along our journey to insure we have not left anyone behind in the back-woods. We will be entering single file into the tunnels and trails that few have ever seen. Please keep a safe distance between you and the ski in front of you for safety reasons in case the rider in front misses a turn or has to stop. Please keep your eyes on the trail and your finger/thumb ready for the throttle, as the turns are tight and you really need to slow down fast at times and at other times you will need to accelerate quickly and make sharp turns as the trail winds.

This will be a nice opportunity to experience the quiet backwaters. Please stay in the marked channel at all times, as the water depth is extermely tide sensitive and you should be able to see the bottom in most places . We will be stopping at the end of each trail or River segment to make sure we have our complete Group and everyone is ok.
Bring something to drink to replenish those fluids and quench your thirst.
Even though it will be saturday, you will be surprised at how quiet and calm these waters are.

1:00 - 2:00 PM
LUNCH AT THE LOVERS KEY RESORT
Feel free to purchase some grub at the Tiki Bar, Daily Specials are good, Blackened Seafood or Chicken Sandwiches are highly recomended, Burgers are good there as well. Re: Southwest Florida Summer Ski Fest

Todd had mentioned that we might go to a local restaurant Friday. We are going to play that by ear. The Resorts restaurant, Flippers, has some of the best local dishes that I have eaten. Jason, the chef there has won a few local awards for his culinary delights!!!! You will love the menu. We go there quite a bit just to get away from the crowds. If someone would like to venture out up to Ft Myers beach where there are nice touristy places to eat, I will be glad to assist with directions. You can't get much better than Flippers and the location with the pool. Best thing is you do not have to drive!
Remember that in every room is a kitchen. Resort suites have a smaller one than the Luxury suites. Full size fridges and stoves. You can eat in if you prefer. If you are cooking a gourmet meal, feel free to invite me!

Not sure if we'll find any waves to jump. but we have some great riding in store. I have a super "ride-route" for us to take on Sat. morning at 10AM, should be a good 3 hour trip.
See you then,
Todd

No waves is fine, haven't been any here in a few weeks anyway :(

I'll plan the radar runs for late afternoon for a couple hours each if people want, looks like it'll fit in your schedule pretty well.

You mentioned bring radar guns. Curious as to whats the best you have ever seen a PWC do either stock or modified?

I have a lot of friends that (sigh) think their stock GPR1200R or 1300 is really doing 71 or 74 mph . Should I hand them the GPS and whip them to reality? Or should I just hold off breaking their hearts and let them be?

Re: Southwest Florida Summer Ski Fest

There has been a small change of plans. Flippers restaurant where we were scheduled to have a fantastic BBQ Saturday night was unable to have their outdoor patio seating area ready in time for our event. We need a larger area than just what they have under the roof to fit our group and the other guests comfortably.
The local contractors couldn’t provide as promised the manpower and materials in the timeframe allotted to construct the new waterfront dinning area. Flippers still has a superb, raised dinning area but it would get a tad congested if we all at once tried to go for dinner. So what we will do is plan to take a road trip a few miles up the beach, by car of course, to one of the fine eating establishments that we went to 2 years ago. It is located right on the Gulf of Mexico with a view to die for. Inside and outside dinning, not to pricey. Upstairs is “Anthony’s on the Gulf”, nice atmosphere for couples or families with good food and drinks. Downstairs is “Junkanoo’s” a little more casual with a band or DJ playing at night for those of us who like to cut loose. Junkanoo’s is open to the beach so the kids can run around while waiting for their meal. Pooltables are also located at one end of the bar. There are many other fine restaurants within an easy drive of the resort. The people at the resort will be glad to assist you in any way that they can.
Here is a link to Anthony's below:
