  • Couple of 650 SX questions

I have just finished rebuilding the top end of my '87 650 SX with Wiseco 30 over pistons. I have a Ocean Pro Vortex cylinder head that allow for two extra cooling lines to be installed. Should I use these or just leave it the was it is (one cooling exit) ? The mods on my machine are K&N air filter, Mikuni super 46 BN carb, Westcoast intake, Boysen Power Reeds, Ocean Pro Vortex Cylinder Head, Westcoast Exhasut Manifold, Coffmans Exhaust, and Westcoast water box. From the looks of the failure I had to the front piston before the rebuild it seemed to be overheating. Any info would be great.

    Thanks

P.S. With this set up what pre-mix ratio would be the best to use (using Amsoil 2 stroke synthetic).

IMO you have no need for the additional cooling lines. 50:1 is a good ratio for you.

      Thanks for the quick response.

Could adding the additional lines be detremental to the motor ? Is too much cooling bad ?

Not in most cases, but if it doesnt need it it's just extra parts to leak.
