  • 900ZXi Trim Troubleshooting

The trim system on my '96 900ZXI is not working, so I removed the box from the hull to inspect it. How do I test the individual components? The motor works when hooked directly up to a 12V source, so I suspect it is the control unit and would like to test it. I imagine the meter sensor would not cause the complete system to malfunction, but how do I test it? Which wires should have continuity and which should have a resistance, etc? Thanks for the help.

Zebra, after alot of troubleshooting on my ZXI, And my guess is that none of your guages are working either(gas, trim, tack, warning lights) Its the control box in the trim unit the top one. Its about $126.00 and that will fix all of these problems.

The thing is, all my gauges work fine. Even the trim guage works when I move the sensor lever manually. I was thinking the switch, but it would have to be bad in both directions. The trim motor works. What exactly does that module do? I don't have the KATS system.
