• Reliability of 900 STX?

Compresion should be around 115-120. The only big problem with them is the handling and ride, it's not the best.

Thank you again. I'll probably have several more questions as I'm trying to find a deal on a used ski at a price I can afford and still go pick it up. Northern Nevada is a looong way from most anywhere.

Are there any problems that are typical of the 1998 Kawasaki 900STXs? Anything in particular that should always be checked befor buying that ski? What should the compression be on a relatively low-hour (90) ski be?

      Thanks.

I have a 99 900stx. I have only had it 1 year it seems to be quite good. The starting is always an issue. A primer instead of choke is a good idea. A good quality battery and a battery tender to keep it charged helps also. I don't think it is as bullet proof as my yamaha but it serves me well.
