      Re: taking out a carb

There is a section in the forums, but it is not clear on the kawasaki itself. I will explain what I know. First you need to remove the airbox on top of the flame arrestors. You do this by removing the bracket that is bolted into the top of the Head. Once you take that off you must remove the flame arrestors. Under those you will see two bolts in each carb. Remove these bolts (they are long). Once you remove these, the carb assembly is detached from the intake. You must now remove the gas lines (on the rear of the carbs, there are three). Then remove the three oil lines on the bottom of the carbs (be careful there are little metal clips that attach these lines to the nipple, if you lose one in the intake and don't notice,GAME OVER!!!). Push the metal clips down the line before you remove it, so they don't fall off. Next all you have is the choke assembly, all you have to do is detach the line. To install do reverse of these instructions. There are two seperate gaskets under the carbs. Be careful that you don't bend them, or better yet, no sense in not changing them. To take apart the carbs, if your not to sure that you know what you are doing, better leave it to someone who does. Maybe someone on the forums can lead you to someone good in your area. You can get rebuild kits from many different places. Good luck!!!

www.buykawasaki.com has a couple, otherwise, you have to buy a service manual.
